Sowing and Reaping

The Promise Returned
Genesis chapter 1 reveals God as a giver. Everything
necessary for Adam to survive and strive was supplied or
given before he was created.
Now keep in mind, as the spiritual offspring of God, we
too are givers. Furthermore, givers receive a promised
return for their obedience. What is a promised return? It
is what God promises to give to you, based on what you
give to Him and others. Your attitude towards giving will
make you or break you - cause you to succeed or fail.
The Bible says, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also
sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also
bountifully (2 Corinthians 9:6).
Furthermore, to expect a return is consistent with the
nature of God. God gave Jesus, but He expects us to love
Him and keep His commandments (John 14:15). God
provides our financial resources, but expects us to
support His kingdom (Deuteronomy 8:18).
Jesus said, Give, and it shall be given unto you... (Luke
6:38). Now understand, God is responsible for your
return and will ensure that you receive it by whatever
means necessary.
The Bible says, When a man's ways please the LORD, he
maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him (Proverbs
16:7). When you do right by God and others, He will find
a way to bless you. Remember, every tithe, offering, or
gift that is given to the glory of God is an endowment
with a promised return.
